Education Guides

Virginia Arts Festival’s offers an Education Guide for each student matinee to assist teachers with integrating arts experiences into their curriculum. These guides align with the Virginia Standards of Learning and also expand on topics such as history, world cultures, communication, geography, critical thinking, and more!

SOL Based Education Guides

In order to assist both educators and students, we develop education guides for many of the programs we offer. Particular focus has been given to provide materials and information that will assist educators in helping their students meet the Virginia Standards of Learning. While our programs are obviously suited for music, chorus, orchestra, band, theater, and dance classes, we have also received positive feedback from language arts and social studies teachers who have found that arts events are a great way of introducing subject matter in a fresh and exciting way. Education guides will be emailed to participating teachers before the performance and can also be downloaded here on our website.
