“(Kern's) electricity at the keyboard is palpable, and though she generates from the music itself, as it flows through her fingers it takes on fresh voltage that is unmistakably hers” (The Washington Post)

An unforgettable musical event! Rachmaninoff’s soaring, romantic piano concertos have thrilled audiences for generations. Now you can hear all five of these masterworks in a single weekend, when Steinway Artist and Van Cliburn Gold Medal-awarded pianist Olga Kern joins the Virginia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Eric Jacobsen, co-presented by the Virginia Arts Festival. Kern, who won the Van Cliburn Gold Medal with her performance of Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto, counts these works among her earliest and most beloved memories, and her deep connection with the music thrills audiences with every note.
