Privacy Policy

The following privacy policy addresses how Virginia Arts Festival and all affiliated Virginia Arts Festival events collects, stores, and uses personal information collected from its websites.

I. Information Collection

The completion of certain commerce transactions which occur on Virginia Arts Festival website require constituents complete the registration process and provide some personal information. Such personal information is not sold to third parties.

II. Constituent Outreach

If a constituent provides an email address, Virginia Arts Festival may use that point of contact for direct messages, as well as for marketing, fundraising, and other informational purposes. Any email sent as a mass informational contact includes an option to opt out of future email communications to that point of contact.

III. Third Parties and Constituent Information

Virginia Arts Festival may communicate with a provided contact point with information on behalf of a third party organization, but never provides or sells to third party organizations a constituent’s personal contact information for the purposes of communications. Virginia Arts Festival reserves the right to share data of constituents who attend co-produced events with relevant production partners.

Virginia Arts Festival may provide collected constituent data to third party organizations which disseminate information to or directly solicit the constituent via their provided contact methods on behalf of Virginia Arts Festival. Constituents have the right to be excluded from such contacts. Third party organizations may also be engaged for the purposes of market research. Such third parties never release personal information beyond the expressed purposes stated in this privacy policy.

IV. Financial information

Constituent credit card information may be encrypted and stored in a secured database, and may be used for the purposes of recurring transactions authorized by the credit card holder. Virginia Arts Festival employees with access to constituent information only have access to a secured, encrypted representation of a constituent’s credit card information.

V. Third Party Sites

This privacy policy applies exclusively to the website of Virginia Arts Festival, and the websites of affiliated Virginia Arts Festival events which are indicated as such. This policy does not extend to third party websites that can be accessed by links which are present on Virginia Arts Festival pages.

Virginia Arts Festival websites may indefinitely use and store cookies and tracking tags that collect anonymous data from site visitors. Such tools are often implemented by third party organizations on Virginia Arts Festival’s behalf, and data is not distributed beyond the means expressed in this policy. With an appropriate browser setting, a user may disable cookies and tags, but this may affect some expected web functionality of most sites.

VI. Minors
