Summer Strings
The Virginia Arts Festival hosts a Summer Strings residency program for select high school musicians in Hampton Roads.
This workshop experience includes musical coaching with professional musicians, conductors, and instructors through chamber orchestra rehearsals, theory, history, and movement courses. Special attention is given in the selection of the musical works and in the music history sessions to highlight a diverse set of composers that students might otherwise not learn about in their traditional school curriculums.
