Walt Whitman’s elegy for Abraham Lincoln chronicled the grief of a nation, with its alternately stark and soaring imagery, dreaming of “a thousand voices rising strong and solemn” in memory of the fallen leader. Share in this revelatory, moving new work inspired by Whitman’s haunting poetry by renowned composer Adolphus Hailstork.
